Miniroos Kick-Off For Girls Program A Huge Success

December 21st, 2017

Thank you to our ALDI MiniRoos Kick Off for Girls

Fun, friends and football was the focus of the 2017 ALDI MiniRoos Kick Off for Girls program.

With the recent visit of the Westfield Matildas to Newcastle, the 270 ALDI MiniRoos Kick Off for Girls participants were buzzing at the 12 centres across Northern NSW.

“It was evident for us when visiting the centres that the program supported the girls to simply have a safe and enjoyable time”, NNSWF Female Participation Officer Holly Ayton said.

“There have been lots of conversations about how well our Westfield Matildas are going, in particular our local football champion Emily van Egmond, it is wonderful to see women inspiring these young females to confidently participate in sport.”

“The program is a way of introducing girls to the game and will assist with growing the winter girls only teams and leagues in 2018.”

“I would like to thank all of the participants, parents, coaches and program coordinators. We are proud and thankful for each of their contributions”

The program concluded last week as the centres celebrated with a Christmas theme.

Following the success of this program, Northern NSW Football will be facilitating a 2018 ALDI MiniRoos Kick Off for Girls Pre-Season Program. The new program will kick off late January and run for 5 weeks at Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility, Speers Point.

Registration and further details on the program will be shared early January. In the meantime, interested parents can share their interest to Holly Ayton at hayton@northernnswfootball.com.au

Northern NSW Football would like to wish all of the ALDI MiniRoos players, parents, coaches and coordinators a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
