Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) is pleased to announce Stockton Sharks Football Club, from Newcastle Football as Newcastle Permanent Club of the Month Winner for August 2017.
Stockton Sharks Football Club was recognised as the winner of the Newcastle Permanent Club of the Month Award due to its significant contribution to the local community. Their focus of providing affordable registration prices has attracted over 150 new players including a 500% increase in female participation from last year.
“Stockton Sharks has made another significant and valuable contribution to the local community since winning the same award last year from lowering their registration fees,” NNSWF Community Football Manager Peter Haynes commented.
“Through their hard work and dedication to the club on and off the field, they have increased in size from 19 teams last year to 30 teams this year, which is an amazing achievement.”
“The club is heading into a positive direction and things are only looking up for them in the upcoming season,” Hayne concluded.
Newcastle Permanent Chief Executive Officer, Terry Millett echoed Haynes’ sentiments and is pleased a local Newcastle club has been rewarded for its efforts.
“Newcastle Permanent is committed to supporting great community initiatives and the Club of the Month Award gives us the opportunity to reward clubs for the excellent work they do in their local area, both on and off the field,” Millett said.
