After getting the invite from Thornton Junior FC Secretary Kristen Birkett, Annelise and I headed up to Thornton Public School on Friday November 8 for an afternoon of fun to celebrate the school’s Centenary.

Dunk the Teacher!
The kids had a blast – with rock climbing, dodgem cars, slides, blow up obstacle courses, jumping castles and of course our MiniRoos Kicking Target! The forward-thinking school staff also found a great way to cool off on a balmy afternoon, putting their hand up for the hugely popular “Dunk the Teacher” game.
In recognition of their outstanding governance and operational planning, Thornton Juniors FC was recently voted Newcastle Permanent Community Club of the Year at Northern NSW Football’s Jennings Medal awards night. With continued efforts to get out into the community on days like this one, Thornton Juniors FC continue to position themselves as a fantastic club for young local footballers to play at! Thank you to Kristen and the team for inviting us along for all the fun!
