#24: Three MiniRoos groups on show at the Jets Double-Header!

On Sunday February 1 at a sizzling McDonald Jones Stadium, we were lucky enough to be joined by three fantastic groups of MiniRoos for the opportunity to be both Mascots and Half-Time Heroes for the A-League and W-League matches. Local clubs Tilligerry FC and Nelson Bay FC were joined by Port Saints FC, who came all the way from Port Macquarie to be at the game!

In the first match of the day, the Jets welcomed A-League newcomers Western United FC to Newcastle for the first time, with the match finishing in a scoreless draw despite the Jets best efforts. Both Tilligerry and Port Saints got to walk out in front of the cameras as Mascots for this one, as well as showing their stuff on the field at half time. It was an extra special day for the young Port Saints Stars, as they got a mention on the Fox Sports live coverage and later caught up with Jets young gun Angus Thurgate – who happens to be a Port Saints Junior himself!

On to the W-League and those extremely keen young MiniRoos Stars from Nelson Bay! The girls capped off a fantastic night by walking out with the Jets and Adelaide W-League teams. The MiniRoos goalscoring exploits at half time must have inspired the Jets Women, as they ran out 2-0 winners in a dominant second half!
