Edgeworth Eagles FC and Broadmeadow Magic FC have claimed their place in the Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32 after winning their respective ‘Final Four’ fixtures today at the Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility.
In the first of today’s fixtures, Edgeworth overcame Adamstown Rosebud in a thrilling 3-0 encounter.
Edgeworth went ahead eleven minutes into the match when Brenton Olzomer capitalised on the rebound of Keanu Moore’s initial attempt.
Adamstown created their own opportunities at the opposite end of the field, however were left with ten men late in the first half as Alex Gillespie saw red.
Edgeworth took a one goal lead into halftime before Justin Tannock headed home to extend his side’s lead and Olzomer added a second for the brace to secure the Eagles’ 3-0 victory.
Broadmeadow Magic eased into the Round of 32 for the second year running after a goal scoring frenzy against West Wallsend which ended 13-0 in favour of the Magicians.
Kale Bradbury opened the scoring with a brace prior to Ko Sangin and Dino Fajkovic adding their name to the scoreboard to give Magic a 4-0 lead by the halftime break.
Fajkovic completed his hattrick on the other side of halftime and Chris Berlin also scored a hattrick during the second half, while Captain Peter Haynes and Josh Piddington each achieved a brace to round out nine goals during the second period.
The Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32 Draw will be broadcast live on Fox Sports News on Wednesday 1st July from 4pm.
