Keeping up with the MiniRoos

#9: Young MiniRoos Half-Time Heroes soar with the Jets and Eagles

September 11th, 2019

On Wednesday 21st August, 60 young Half-Time Heroes took the field at Jack McLaughlan Oval during the FFA Cup Round of 16 clash between NPL Northern NSW side Edgeworth Eagles and the Newcastle Jets.

It was a mammoth “local derby” between the most dominant NPL NNSW team in recent years and the region’s flagship Hyundai A-League club, with a bumper local crowd of 4,297 fans creating a brilliant atmosphere.

Our 60 young half-time heroes were joined by 22 mascots, who were excited to walk out with the players on to what was a stunning playing surface at Jack McLaughlin in front of the Fox Sports Cameras; with this match the designated prime-time feature match of the evening. It was a memorable night for everyone involved, with the Jets advancing to the Quarter Finals after a 5-1 win.

Well done to all of our young football stars involved and thank you to all coaches, parent helpers and Edgeworth Eagles FC for being excellent hosts!
