Advanced Coaches treated to Newcastle Permanent Coaching Masterclass with Gary van Egmond

More than 20 advanced coaches from across Northern NSW (NNSW) were given the opportunity to learn from FFA National Youth Team Coach, Gary van Egmond during the Newcastle Permanent Advanced Coaching Masterclass at Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility on Tuesday 11 February 2020.

Van Egmond took the time out of his busy National Team schedule to introduce coaches to the idea of developing individual talent within a team environment.

Gary provided an overview of this philosophy before taking the attendees out for an in-depth practical session with the Newcastle Olympic Under 16 Girls Squad.

Northern NSW Football Head of Football Peter Haynes said it was a privilege to have van Egmond take the time out of his busy schedule to attend his old stomping ground.

Gary experienced great success as the former Northern NSW Football Technical Director, to then move onto his coaching roles within Football Federation Australia.

The next Newcastle Permanent Coaching Masterclass is with Football Federation Australia’s (FFA) U17 Women’s National Team Head Coach Rae Dower and is proudly hosted by Football Far North Coast club, Mullumbimby FC at Mullumbimby Ex-Services Club, Thursday 5 March from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.

Rae Dower boasts over 20 years of coaching experience and her Newcastle Permanent Masterclass will include insights into the competencies she looks for when identifying players for Junior Matilda’s camps and tours.
