The Newcastle Permanent Coaching Masterclasses are FREE Workshops proudly presented by Northern NSW Football and Our Major Partner of Community Football, Newcastle Permanent, featuring special reputable guests from across the region, country and globe delivering both practical and theory sessions on a particular topic to help community coaches improve their skills.

Regardless of skill or experience level, the Newcastle Permanent Coaching Masterclasses will certainly add value to your coaching experience and are designed to be fun and practical where you can engage and learn off coaches and mentors who have ample amounts of experience in their field.

Rae Dower

Holding an AFC / FFA Pro Dipolma, the former Westfield Matilda, former Coach of the 2016-17 Westfield W-League Winning Canberra United Women’s team, former head coach of the National Training Centre United/ACTAS, Dower is one of the most experienced and qualified female coaches in Australia. Dower has over 20 years of coaching experience and has a great understanding of the game and is willing to share all her knowledge with Northern NSW Football’s registered coaches.

In the past 12 months, Dower’s Junior Matildas have ventured to Bishkek in Kyrgyz Republic and Laos for the AFC U-16 Women’s Championship qualifications. A successful two stages have seen the Junior Matildas qualify, and will be off to Thailand in September.

The topic is: The competencies Junior Matildas coaches look at in identifying players.

Kevin Grima

Football Federation Australia’s (FFA) Youth Development Manager Kevin Grima will be Guest Speaker at a FREE Newcastle Permanent Community Coaching Master-Classes, proudly presented by Newcastle Permanent, our Official Partner in Community Football across Northern New South Wales.

The topic will be the new Game-Intervention-Game Methodology (or G.I.G Method) which is aimed towards facilitating alternative training content for the youth age groups (male and female players aged 13-16).

The Game Training GIG methodology is based on tapping into young players inherent desire to play more games.
