PROFILE

Corinne began playing soccer with Swansea Football Club at the ripe age of 6! Remaining with her local club at Swansea until 2010, she joined Valentine for one season in the Herald Women’s Premier League (WPL).

Following her stint at Valentine, Corinne was invited to play at the Centre of Excellence, a football talent identification and player development program run by Football Federation Australia, which helped Corinne to develop her skills as a player and pushed into numerous opportunities, including her selection for the Emerging Jets in 2013, when aged 14.

At the age of 12, Corinne was selected in the Nationals All Star team, a competition which highlights the best of the best players state-wide in her age category where they compete against the winning team of the Nationals tournament. In 2012, the following year, Corinne was yet again selected for the Nationals All Star squad.

Corinne has consistently represented Northern NSW at the Telstra State Championships for Girls for four consecutive years, that being 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014, and has also represented the Hunter School Team in 2014 and 2015.

Last year, Corinne decided to trial for Warners Bay after hearing a lot of quality players from Valentine were moving there after Valentine FC’s team folded.

“A big influence was knowing that Leon Davis was coaching,” said Corinne, who had been coached by Leon at Macquarie Academy and knew he had the “knowledge and coaching skills” to further develop Corinne as a player.

A successful first year with Warners Bay saw Corinne signing again this season. She said that apart from the Grand Final win with Warners Bay last season, her personal career highlight was when she received the first grade “Most Improved” player trophy award.

As for this season, Corinne would love to see a repeat of last year, that being to “get into the Grand Final again and win!”

WPL PLAYERS PLAYER

Corrinne credits fellow teammate and coach, Cassidy Davis. Davis, having just won Player of the Year Award for her Westfield W-League 2016.17 season with the Newcastle Jets, inspires Corinne through her hard work ethic. Corrine loves Cassidy’s passion for the game and says she is “great to play with”.

OFF THE FIELD

Currently, in her final year of High School, Corinne will be completing her HSC at the end of this year and she hopes to take a gap year when she finishes to travel before starting her career! Otherwise, Corinne likes to stay fit by heading to the gym, hanging with her friends and spending time with her pooch!
