Edgeworth Junior Soccer Club achieve five stars in National Club Development Program

April 14th, 2021

Edgeworth Junior Soccer Club has become the latest Northern NSW Football club to achieve five stars in the National Club Development Program.

The club has undertaken a revolution of sorts over the last 18 months, strengthening governance and investing time into planning for the future of the club. Working through the NCDP, Edgeworth JSC was able to achieve four stars late last year with an action plan in place for the future.

“A lot of work has been undertaken behind the scenes to place Edgeworth JSC into a position to achieve the initial four-star rating and then complete actions to reach the five-star rating in the NCDP,” Northern NSW Football Club Development Officer Phillip Andrews said.

“When the NCDP is used by a progressive and ambitious committee to improve the football club the benefits for all involved can be immense. Amongst many things that the club is doing really well, their in-house trial day on Saturday was a fantastic initiative and proved to be an outstanding success for the club.

“Congratulations must go to Kev, Amanda, Troy and Mandy who are leading a growing group of volunteers into this season. Edgeworth Junior Soccer Club is managing a significant increase in registrations for this season and are excited by volunteers from their football community that have stepped forward to assist.”

Edgeworth JSC secretary Amanda Kapsaskis said the club looked forward to the season ahead.

“The club is moving into unchartered territory in welcoming so many new players but the effort we have put into our development should place us in a strong position to provide a great experience for every one of our players,” Kapsaskis said.

“I have had numerous conversations with Phillip at NNSWF who has offered support to complete the NCDP and provided strategies and advice on how to reach our goals.”
