It was an exciting end to the Under 12s Skills Acquisition Program (SAP) competition on the weekend with the top four teams all playing each other and the results determining where they all finished on the ladder.
In the end, the Emerging Jets U11 Blue team were crowned champions with Macquarie Blue, Emerging Jets U11 Red and Newcastle United all close behind.
NNSWF Technical Advisor Leo Bertos said it was a great achievement for the side and overall was an entertaining competition.
“Even though we try to not focus on the results in SAP, to have such competitive games to end the season was great for all players and coaches involved,” Bertos said.
“The overall standard of the 12 Years competition this year has been good and I am interested to see how all of the Zone SAP players will perform in the National Premier Leagues Youth competition next year.
“Congratulations to the Emerging Jets U11 Blue team and the Macquarie Blue team who performed consistently well throughout the season,” he concluded.
The SAP is the start of the talented player pathway for male and female football players aged from U9 to U12 years of age.
The SAP philosophy is to develop and improve the players ability in the four core skills of the game which are First Touch, Striking the Ball (Passing and Shooting), 1 v 1 Attacking and Defending as well as Running with the ball – the four core skills that are the most performed actions in football.
