Girls Kick Off Season 2018

January 11th, 2018

With the dramatic growth in female participation, it’s no surprise that girls will lead out Season 2018 with the ALDI Miniroos Kick Off For Girls Pre Season Program.

The five (5) week program for 5-11 year old girls will commence on January 30 and run through till February 27 from 4pm-5pm at the Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility.

Northern NSW Football’s Female Participation Officer, Holly Ayton, expects the program to be well supported and with limited spaces available has encouraged young girls to register early.

“The ALDI Miniroos Kick Off For Girls Pre Season program is an introductory program of football for young girls and aims to allow players to build confidence, whilst learning the basic skills of the game and allows young girls the opportunity to give football a try before taking the step to register for the season,” Ayton said.

“The girls can try football in a fun, safe and supportive environment that gives them a taste of what to expect should they choose to register at their local club, with the ‘girls only’ aspect of the program letting them do this with their female peers,” Ayton concluded.

All participants receive an ALDI Miniroos For Girls shirt and an ALDI Miniroos for Girls participants pack that includes a boot bag, ball, drink bottle, shin pads as well as a free ticket to the Newcastle Jets Double Header on February 3 where the girls will be Half Time Heroes when the Westfield W-League Jets women take on Melbourne City.

Registration for the program is $65 and girls can register HERE with registrations closing on January 26.
