Throughout last week, Northern NSW Football ‘s (NNSWF) ALDI MiniRoos Development Officers, Stephanie Palmer and Brent Wallace, headed out to various parts of Northern Inland Football (NIF) to hold Coaching Certificates, school gala days and meet with club representatives.
During the week, Palmer visited Uralla Football Club, Glen Innes Football Club and Guyra Football Club where she coordinated Coaching Certificates and training sessions that were met with a remarkable, enthusiastic response from local coaches, parents and players who were also extremely accommodating.
Palmer also held a Small Schools Gala Day featuring four schools from Inverell – Tingha Primary School, Gum Flat Primary School, Gilgai Primary School and Delungra Primary School – with a great attendance of up to 130 children who got to experience and participate in skill-based games and activities that were loved and enjoyed by both the students and teachers.
On Saturday, Armidale Football Club hosted Palmer as they enjoyed the inflatable activities and met with some of the lovely, dedicated people that work with the club.
Wallace travelled to Moree, Wee Waa, Narrabri, Gunnedah and Tamworth to visit football clubs and meet with coaches and staff, who showed tremendous hospitality, to discuss their clubs and the potential for ‘Regional Rounds’ that will link the clubs to the Newcastle Jets.
Here, ALDI MiniRoos Coaching Certificates were also held and were well-attended by coaches who were excited to learn.
Wallace said, “the trip has highlighted some great key people within each club and has started the process of forming relationships with these club people.”
“One important benefit of the trip was to connect these regional clubs back to football via NNSWF.”
