Throughout 2016 and 2017, our local Telstra stores rolled out an impressive rewards program throughout the Northern NSW Football Clubs to complement its partnership with Northern NSW Football (NNSWF).

Telstra’s rewards program allowed members of the football family to nominate a club of their choice to receive a $50 First Touch Supplies voucher when they made the switch to the National Broadband Network (NBN) at their local Telstra store.

The goal of the program was to help clubs purchase much-needed supplies and equipment.

While many clubs benefited from the program, it was Football Mid North Coast’s Halliday’s Point Football Club who really took initiative and pocketed $5,850 worth of vouchers.

President, Ethan Williams was ecstatic over how much they were able to purchase from First Touch Football Supplies through the program.

“The equipment we’ve purchased will make a huge impact for our club, we purchased all sorts of things from training bibs, balls, goals, right  through to socks with our emblem on them!”

“With only being a small club of 140 players, we had to do a lot of fundraising each season in order to purchase new equipment and uniforms,” Williams said.

“When we found out that we raised more than $5,000, we couldn’t believe it! The money we saved will allow us to give back to the kids and coaches of the club. Coaches will have the equipment needed to run their training sessions as well as giving us the opportunity to support coaches in their coaching roles by enrolling them in various courses. This will benefit the kids as it will improve their game skills,” he added.

“We are extremely grateful to the Telstra Store in Forster, to the community who nominated the club as well as Northern NSW Football and First Touch Football Supplies for all of their help.”

Licensee of Telstra Store Forster, David Sampaklis, thanked Hallidays Point Football Club for its incredible support of Telstra’s Rewards Program over the past two seasons and hopes the new gear and supplies helps the club achieve a successful 2018.

“Having been a part of the local football community for many years, it gives me great pleasure to be able to support local clubs and kids through our initiative.”

Participating Telstra stores included Telstra Store East Maitland, Forster, Glendale, Kotara, Lake Haven and Taree.
