May 7th, 2019

The members of Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) on Sunday elected new Directors onto the Board of Directors at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Newcastle.

The newly elected Directors are Helene O’Neill and Peter Dimovski. They join Bill Moncreiff, Terry Psarakis, Mansell Laidler, Stephanie Sneesby and Sarah Gray on the Board.

Following the AGM, the directors met and elected Helene O’Neill as the new Chair of the Board and Bill Moncrieff as Deputy Chair for two terms.

Mrs O’Neill said it is a great honour to be elected to lead the Board of NNSWF.

“I look forward to working with the members of the new Board and will continue to provide a great contribution to our game,” she said.

Moncrieff echoed O’Neill’s sentiments and is looking forward to the contribution he will be able to make to the football family.

“Having been a member of football within our region for many, many years, I look forward to growing the footprint Northern NSW Football has built,” he said.

The NNSWF Annual General Meeting was attended by representatives of NNSWF’s seven (7) Member Zones and Standing Committees.

Outgoing NNSWF Chair Bill Walker said after twenty seven (27) years serving, he is proud of the goals NNSWF have achieved together with their stakeholders.

“It has been an honour to serve as Chairman of Northern NSW Football and to have been able to build upon the strong foundation,” he said.

“I would like to thank all of Northern NSW Football’s members, staff, current and previous board members for their support.

“I am very much looking forward to what 2019 and the future has to bring and it is now up to the new board to protect the gains made and take our game to new heights.”

The day concluded with a meeting of the Peak Steering Committee and the release of the Annual Report. Delegates reviewed the sport’s progress against strategic priorities and prepared for the strategic plan forum in Coffs Harbour in mid-June.
