Lochinvar Rovers FC Awarded Newcastle Permanent Club of the Month Award for June

July 31st, 2017

Northern NSW Football is pleased to announce Lochinvar Rovers FC, from Hunter Valley Football as Newcastle Permanent Club of the Month Winner for June 2017.

Lochinvar Rovers FC was recognised as the winner of the Newcastle Permanent Club of the Month Award due to its significant contribution to the local community. Their focus extends beyond their club and providing enjoyable experiences for their players, coaches and others, to the wider community, working closely with schools, other sporting clubs and community groups to positively contribute and give back to the community on a broader scale.

Lochinvar are actively diversifying their player base and offering participation opportunities for a much wider segment of the community. In the past two years, their female player numbers have increased by 400% and support provided to local schools includes information sessions at Kindergarten Orientation and assisting schools with their own football activities.

“Lochinvar Rovers FC has made a significant and valuable contribution to the local community through working closely with a diverse range of groups outside of their club as an active sporting citizen, as well as continuing their focus on providing additional participation opportunities within their club,’” NNSWF Community Football Manager Peter Haynes commented.

“They have been active in developing coaches, Game Leaders and referees that enhance the overall experience for everyone involved at the club and we applaud the efforts of Lochinvar Rovers FC Committee, along with their coaches and players, who collectively have demonstrated that community is an integral component of the clubs foundations,” Haynes concluded.

Newcastle Permanent Mobile Lending Manager, Mark Iuliano echoed Haynes’ sentiments and is pleased a local Hunter Valley club has been rewarded for its efforts.

“Newcastle Permanent is proud to support community football across Northern NSW and it is great to see clubs working hard to make football such an inclusive sport while teaching players discipline and respect, both on and off the field,” Iuliano said.

Lochinvar Rovers FC will receive a $250 First Touch Football Supplies gift voucher thanks to Newcastle Permanent that will allow the club to purchase new equipment to continue its efforts in growing the game in the Region.

The Newcastle Permanent Club of the Month Award recognises clubs for contribution to football on and off the playing field across areas including football experience, club activities, coach, volunteer management and special projects.
