Newcastle Jets Women Head Coach Craig Deans today announced six players who have returned to the red and blue for the upcoming Westfield W-League (WWL) season.

Tara Andrews, Claire Coelho, Rhali Dobson, Libby Copus-Brown, Cassidy Davis and Georgia Yeoman-Dale became the first players unveiled in the Season 8 Newcastle Jets Women squad.

Andrews returns to the squad after spending the Australian off season playing with Colorado Pride in the USL W-League where she claimed the Golden Boot Award.

The second most capped Jets Women player of all time, Andrews has played 60 matches for the side since her debut in Season 2 and scored 23 goals during that time. This season, Andrews is hoping to improve upon the Jets’ 2014 performance and build on the momentum she gained in the US.

“I’m looking forward to building on last season as we were so close to making the Semi Finals, so I’d like to get one better and make the Semis and then anything can happen from there,” Andrews said.

Dobson shared the title of leading goal scorer for the Jets Women with Andrews last season and is expected to continue to fire up front as the Jets look to build on last year’s 5th place finish.

Coelho, Copus-Brown and Davis return for their third season, while Yeoman-Dale has signed on for a second after making the move from Canberra United to debut with the Newcastle Jets for Season 2014.
