NNSWF’s best young match officials acknowledged at Youth Referee Presentation

December 6th, 2021

Northern NSW Football honoured its best young match officials at its annual Youth Referee Presentation on Friday night.

The presentation night was held at the Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility with the young referees, who officiate on NNSWF Premier Competitions fixtures, leaving their whistles on the sideline to take part in the annual Challenge Match following the presentation.

Rory Hersee was named Youth Referee of the Year, while Lucy Hungerford was named Youth Assistant Referee of the Year.

NNSWF Referee Manager Brad Carlin said the Youth Referee Presentation was a fitting celebration of the successful season enjoyed by the young match officials.

“I could not be prouder of the improvement in our young referees as the season progressed,” Carlin said.

“Not only is this improvement a reflection of their ability and commitment as match officials but it is also a credit to our hard-working referee coaches and assessors.

“To receive an award for the standard of your officiating when there are so many talented, young referees under consideration is a great achievement.

“Congratulations not only to the award winners but to all of our youth referees including our first year referees, for such a strong standard of officiating during 2021.”
