Northern NSW Football Announces Metro Squads for FFA National Youth Championships for Boys

September 4th, 2015

Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) is pleased to announce their 16-player Metro squads which will compete at the Football Federation Australia (FFA) National Youth Championships for Boys.

The Championships, which commence late September, will be held at C.ex International Stadium Coffs Harbour and provide the Northern NSW sides with the opportunity to test their ability against Australia’s finest young male footballing talent.

The Metro squads are made up of players from NNSWF’s three Southern Member Zones; Hunter Valley Football, Macquarie Football and Newcastle Football.

“The event provides our players with a great opportunity to test themselves against their counterparts from the rest of the country and to show what they are capable of both individually and collectively,” Northern NSW Football Technical Director Michael Browne commented.

“The emphasis of the week is on individual talent identification therefore regardless of team performance all players have the chance to impress the FFA staff who will be observing the games.”

“It is pleasing that we have players from both the Emerging Jets and also from PS4 NPL clubs representing Northern NSW and we are confident they will give a good account of themselves,” said Browne.

NNSWF also fields Country squads at the FFA National Youth Championships for Boys which are comprised of players from NNSWF’s four Northern Member Zones; Football Far North Coast, Football Mid North Coast, North Coast Football and Northern Inland Football.

The FFA National Youth Championships are proudly supported by the NSW Government through its tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW.
