Northern NSW Referees to Participate in Targeted Athlete Program (TAP) Camp

June 5th, 2015

Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) will conduct the Referees Targeted Athlete Program (TAP) Camp in conjunction with the Telstra State Championships for Boys which commence Saturday 6th June in Coffs Harbour.

Referees branches throughout Northern NSW nominate match officials to attend the camp, during which the match officials are inspected and mentored throughout the 56 fixtures within the tournament by the camp coaching staff.

“The Referees TAP Camp allows upcoming referees to develop their officiating skills under the guidance of experienced referees,” said NNSWF Operations Manager, Alan Nisbet.

“The Camp also provides these young referees a platform to showcase their abilities for the opportunity to represent Northern NSW on a national level,” Nisbet concluded.

The TAP Camp will be used as a tool to identify referees to represent Northern NSW Football at the FFA Boys National Championships in October. The FFA National Championships are then utilised as an identification vehicle for prospective Hyundai A-League and Youth League match officials.

In total, 19 referees will participate in the TAP Camp under the guidance of referees coaches; Cameron Burns, Ossie Bellamy, Luke Davies, and Ray Nyland.
