August 3rd, 2018

Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) officially announces the date of the 2019 rebel Female Football Week as 22nd June  – to 30th June 2019.

These dates include two weekends of matches to increase the possibility of clubs having a home fixture in this period and to coincide with the final few weeks of the FIFA Women’s World Cup, France from June 7th to July 7th 2019.

During the week, clubs will be encouraged host their own activations such as gala days, BBQs, club mascots – any sort of special event.

NNSWF Female Participation Officer Holly Ayton, said rebel Female Football Week is effective in promoting and celebrating females in football.

“The week is an opportunity to communicate inclusion for females in our game.

“There are many inspiring women involved right across the game of football, not only players but volunteers who dedicate endless time and effort to growing and improving female football.

“2018 saw a significant increase in female participation across our region and trends show 2019 will follow suit.”

Ayton also believes campaigns such as rebel Female Football Week, will encourage more women to play the and progress in the game.

“Increasing female participation in football is an identified area of growth for Northern NSW Football and its seven Member Zones who continue to work towards the vision of both women and men being involved equally in all aspects of the game.

“Our decision to run rebel Female Football Week during the FIFA Women’s World Cup is particularly exciting, as local representative footballer, Emily van Egmond, is participating in the event,” said Ayton.

this the date early, we hope member zones, clubs and volunteers have time to schedule unique activities for the 2019 campaign.” Ayton concluded.
