Northern NSW Football would like to acknowledge and congratulate the achievements of Northern NSW Football’s Referee, Ryan Gallagher.
From officiating his 100th Hyundai A-League match on Sunday between the Newcastle Jets and Western Sydney Wanderers, Gallagher has made further developments and milestones as a FIFA Assistant Referee this year.
Earlier this month, Gallagher was appointed to two international fixtures in Japan, officiating matches between Japan and New Zealand, and Japan and Haiti. This Wednesday he will leave to officiate in the Indonesian League One matches for two weeks.
From all of his hard work and dedication to the game, Gallagher has been selected as an Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Elite Assistant Referee for 2018.
The AFC’s mission is to manage and administer all refereeing matters in Asia efficiently and effectively with the cooperation of FIFA, the Confederations, Member Associations and stakeholders of the game. The department’s vision is to lead the Asian Football Confederation in raising the standard of Asian Referees to be the benchmark in the world of Refereeing.
As a result of this appointment, Gallagher will attend the AFC Elite Match Officials Seminar in Kuala Lumpur commencing on November 19th.
Gallagher’s achievements reflect his ability and perseverance and are enormous achievements of which he and all match officials across Northern NSW can be proud of. Well done Ryan!
