Telstra SAP Country & Metro Gala Days

August 11th, 2016

Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility will play host to over 450 of the region’s best junior players over the weekend for the Telstra Skill Acquisition Program Country & Metropolitan Gala Days 2016.

The Telstra Skill Acquisition Program Country & Metropolitan Gala Days will host 10, 11 and 12 years boys and girls with the competition commencing Saturday, August 13, at 9.00am and continuing until 5pm Sunday.

There will be a total of 55 teams participating across three age divisions, consisting of sides from six of Northern NSW Football’s Member Zones – Football Mid North Coast, Hunter Valley Football, Macquarie Football, Newcastle Football, North Coast Football and Northern Inland Football.

The Emerging Jets 9, 10 and 11 years boys, as well as the 11 and 12 years girl sides, will also be participating in the tournament.

Northern NSW Football’s Technical Director Michael Browne is looking forward to the Gala Days this weekend and the opportunity to have all players across the region have the opportunity to play against each other.

“The event last year was very successful as it provides players from regional areas with the opportunity to compare themselves with players from the Metro zones which is always a useful exercise. We are all looking forward to seeing the players in action again over the weekend,” Browne said.
