Thornton Junior FC become just second Australian football club to achieve Level 3 FFA Accreditation

Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) would like to congratulate Thornton Junior FC for gaining Level 3 Accreditation with the NCAS, joining Lochinvar Rovers FC as the only clubs in Australia with the same accreditation. 

NNSWF Club Development Officer Phillip Andrews and Hunter Valley Football Manager Sarah White visited Thornton Junior FC to present the club with their certificate for gaining level 3 accreditation with the National Club Accreditation Scheme.

Throughout the 2018 season club development has been at the forefront of activities undertaken by Kristen and the hard-working committee at Thornton Junior Football Club. The club development plan created by the club followed a template supplied by NNSWF and addressed criteria aimed directly at further developing the club while improving the experience for members.

One area strategically identified for improvement involved coach education. Thornton Junior FC was pro-active in applying to host NNSWF coaching courses and then contributed significant numbers to these courses resulting in the registration of over 100 coaches or volunteers.

Thornton Junior FC can boast significant increases in player numbers for the 2019 season reaching almost 400 registered players for the 2019 season.

NNSWF has proudly supported the initiatives undertaken by the club and look forward to continuing to grow the positive relationship into the future.
