Westfield FFA Cup Qualification Weekend Participants Determined

May 18th, 2015

All eight Northern NSW club sides to participate in the Westfield FFA Cup Qualification Weekend on 20th and 21st June at Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility have now been determined.

On Saturday Coffs City United FC was dominant over Alstonville FC, winning the match 8-4 for the opportunity to take on Southern Pool sides in June.

In the other Northern Pool fixture, South Armidale United FC claimed a 2-1 away victory over the host side, Tuncurry Forster FC.

PS4 National Premier Leagues (NPL) sides Adamstown Rosebud FC, Broadmeadow Magic FC and Edgeworth FC, NEWFM 1st Division teams Valentine FC and West Wallsend SFC, as well as Newcastle’s Zone League 1 club side, Jesmond FC secured their places in the Westfield FFA Cup Qualification Weekend earlier this year.

The Westfield FFA Cup provides Northern NSW PS4 NPL and Club teams the opportunity to progress to the Round of 32 and the chance to play off against Preliminary Round club-based winners from fellow states, as well as Hyundai A-League Clubs.

The Qualification Weekend format will see four Southern teams drawn against each other and the remaining two Southern teams drawn against the two Northern teams in the ‘Final Eight’ fixtures.

The winners of the ‘Final Eight’ matches will progress to the ‘Final Four’ fixtures. All ‘Final Four’ fixtures will be drawn from the hat and the two winners will automatically qualify to represent Northern NSW Football in the Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32.

The Qualification Weekend ‘Final Eight’ official draw will take place in the days ahead, following which a formal announcement of fixtures will occur.
