Westfield FFA Cup Qualification Weekend This Weekend

The Westfield FFA Cup Qualification Weekend will be played at the Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility (LMRFF) this Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th June as the final eight teams compete for a place in the Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32 and the chance to take on Hyundai A-League sides.

The ‘Final Eight’ fixtures will see PlayStation® 4 National Premier Leagues sides Hamilton Olympic FC, Edgeworth Eagles FC, Lambton Jaffas FC, along with NEWFM 1st Division teams Belmont Swansea FC, Thornton FC, Singleton FC, as well as Norths United FC from Armidale and North Coast side Urunga FC battle it out for a place in the ‘Final Four’ fixtures and ultimately the opportunity to represent Northern NSW Football in the Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32.

The winners of the ‘Final Eight’ matches will identify the final four teams to contest the Round of 32 spots. All ‘Final Four’ fixtures will be drawn from the hat on Saturday, June 18 to play on Sunday, June 19.

The two winners will automatically qualify to represent Northern NSW Football in the Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32.

Please read the below information for everything you need to know about attending the Westfield FFA Cup at the LMRFF.

General Information:

Where can I park?
The parking areas are shown in red on the below map. Should the LMRFF parking become full, overflow parking is available adjacent to Speers Point Swim Centre. Additional overflow parking is available adjacent to Speers Point Park and Macquarie Field (access via Creek Reserve Road). Please be advised that no cars are permitted to park on the roads within LMRFF.

Is there an entry fee?
No, there is no entry fee to the Westfield FFA Cup Qualification Weekend.

Will food and beverages be available for purchase?
Yes, LMRFF’s Sidelines Café will be open across the weekend.

Is alcohol allowed?
Strictly no alcohol may be brought into the LMRFF, however may be purchased from Sidelines Cafe after 10am.

Where can I smoke?
Smoking is prohibited in ALL areas of the LMRFF. Should you elect to smoke, you must exit LMRFF and situate yourself outside the black perimeter fencing and main carpark. Please be aware smoking is also not permitted in Speers Point Park.

Can I bring my pet?
Although we love all animals large and small, unfortunately the LMRFF isn’t the place for them, please refrain from bringing them with you.

Where can I sit?
Chairs are available in the alfresco area and both fields are viewable from the grandstand on the southern side of Field 1 and 2. You may bring outdoor chairs of your own to place on the Northern hill and grassed area adjacent to the change room area.

Clubs have been encouraged to bring their own marquees and shade structures to use on the Northern hill.

 

Player and Team Official Information:

How does my team enter the facility and change room areas?
Teams will enter the building via the front doors and are requested to proceed past the café and out towards the fields. The coach or team manager only will report to the Event Operations desk where they will complete the team sheet and receive official accreditation. NNSWF will provide entry to the rear car park for one vehicle per team (including minibuses for travelling teams), allowing gear to be unloaded directly to the change rooms. Upon arrival at the venue, the team manager is required to phone Ramsey Vane-Wood on 0427 088 898 for access to the rear carpark via the side gate.

Where can we conduct a team meeting?
All teams are requested not to use the café area for team meetings or to commence changing. Meetings can be conducted inside change rooms or outdoors. Click here to view change room procedures.

Where do we warm up?
Your team will be able to warm up on the Five aside courts. Courts will be allocated to clubs by the Event Manager, on the day.

Can we access ice?
Your team will be provided with one bag of ice and use of an esky in your designated change room.

Are we allowed to bring a marquee?
Yes, clubs are welcome to bring their own shade structures and erect on the hill at the northern end of the facility (refer to map above).
