rebel Female Football Week

With the continued success and growth of the women’s game across Australia, Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) is proud to announce that rebel Female Football Week will be held again in 2018.

Football Federation Australia (FFA) recently announced that Australia’s leading sporting and leisure equipment, apparel and footwear retailer, rebel, is the naming rights partner Female Football Week for the next three years.

The week will kick start on Friday 2nd of March running through until Saturday the 10th of March.

rebel Female Football Week is a national initiative which gives the football community the chance to celebrate the immense growth of the women’s game and acknowledge existing players, coaches, referees and administrators in football.

NNSWF will be facilitating 6 state-wide rebel FFW Festivals, a rebel FFW Women’s Football Network Evening, rebel FFW Referee Course, rebel FFW Female Only Combined MiniRoos & Skills Certificate and a rebel FFW School Gala Day.

NNSWF is pleased to announce Westfield W-League Newcastle Jets player Cassidy Davis as the rebel FFW Ambassador. Davis along with fellow Newcastle Jets teammates will make several appearances across Northern NSW throughout the week.


rebel FFW Festivals

These festivals offer opportunities for young girls to engage in additional skill development sessions to improve their confidence and coordination, and will include fun football games. An opportunity to engage and celebrate with other enthusiastic girls, and a chance for girls aged 4 to 11 to experience football before the 2018 season starts.

Registration $22, each participant will receive a rebel Female Football Week shirt and drink bottle.

rebel FFW Women’s Football Network Evening

This evening is aimed at administrators, club committees, coaches, players and passionate supporters and members of the football community. Those who are interested in developing and progressing women’s football at their club and within the wider community.

Northern NSW Football is focused on promoting, encouraging, supporting, inspiring and celebrating football for women and girls. The evening will include a Guest Speaker, Newcastle Jets player, rebel FFW Award Announcements and light refreshments.

Female Only Combined MiniRoos & Skills Certificate

The development of female coaches and match officials is vital to the growth of football and more specifically, female participation. This Female-Only combined certificate provides girls and women with an opportunity to learn how to facilitate a football session for 4 to 11-year-old children. This learning day is conducted in a safe and supportive environment, that encourages women to be confident and involved in game leading and coaching.

rebel Female Football Week – ALDI MiniRoos for Girls School Gala Day

In celebration of rebel Female Football Week and girls participating in football, Northern NSW Football is hosting an ALL GIRLS school Gala Day. This is an opportunity for young females to give football a go before the 2018 club season kicks off. Held at the immaculate Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility in Speers Point, school teams can enjoy a fun-filled day playing football in a safe environment. This day is aimed at young girls in years in grades 3/4 and 5/6. If interested in this fantastic opportunity please contact your school for more information.

Female Only Referee Level 4 Course

This particular course, being held during rebel Female Football Week, is aimed at female-only participants in order to recruit more female match officials. The level 4 referee course provides participants with education and training to become a referee. The one-day course consists of theory modules, practical sessions on a pitch to enable referees to begin refereeing at the community level. To become a referee, you will need to complete the Level 4 Referee Course and complete the online Laws of the Game certificate.

To undertake this training program, you must be at least 13 years of age and have successfully passed the online Laws of the Game within the past two years.

Descriptions for each of the club event options are below.

rebel FFW Skills Session
 

Hold a free skills session for girls aged between 9-13 across during Female Football Week.

The skills session to run in line with FFA’s National Curriculum Skill Acquisition Phase (SAP) and focus on developing fundamental football skills and improve the player’s overall confidence.

rebel FFW Club BBQ

A club BBQ that celebrates females within the club. Important to include all players, coaches, administrators, referees and supporters.

rebel FFW Club Season Launch

Club hosts a season launch with rebel FFW theme or for women and girls’ teams. Invite local council members, schools etc.

rebel FFW 'Come & Try' Training Session

Host a fun training session to introduce existing and new female players to the club. Training session could include an introduction to skills and to play fun small-sided games, bring a friend and receive information on how to register. Ideal for all age groups.

rebel FFW Club Female Interviews
 

Clubs to interview females for rebel FFW and share articles, videos and photos through social media and web pages. Interviews/good news stories can be sent to Member Zones and NNSWF, to be shared on their social media and web pages. Clubs that register their rebel FFW activity will receive customisable promotional rebel FFW material to use.

rebel FFW Female Support Person Day

A fun club day that could include small-sided games, a BBQ, registration information, a family day.

rebel FFW ALDI MiniRoos Gala Day

ALDI MiniRoos Gala Days brings young players together to participate in football matches on smaller fields in a round robin format. The rebel FFW ALDI MiniRoos Gala Day can be for registered club teams and children interested in giving football a go before the rostered season.

rebel FFW ALDI MiniRoos Gala Days will provide girls – who may or may not have played before – the opportunity to experience and be introduced to football in a fun environment. The focus is entirely on enjoyment and participation as there will be no winners or scores recorded, with the only awards for participation or the fair play initiative. Clubs may use a fair play initiative, where Coaches, Spectators and Players/Teams are scored on their fair play.
