Gala Days

Throughout the year several gala days are held around the region for different programs. Sometimes these are one-off opportunities to come and try a football program, or others are for schools or communities to run gala days. 

These provide teams with opportunities to play against teams they wouldn’t get to during our competitions or to raise awareness and sign-ups for various football programs.

Newcastle Permanent Primary School Gala Days

Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) is hosting 12 FREE Newcastle Permanent Primary School Gala Days to give students the opportunity to try football before our 2026 season kicks off. 

They’re perfect for schools and students looking for an active way to learn outside the classroom.

The 2026 Newcastle Permanent Primary School Gala Days will kick off in February. Register your school for a gala day below. 

What to expect

• Half day (9:30am - 2pm) of non-competitive, fun and friendly football
• Managed by NNSWF experts
• Round robin format (four games per team)
• Play against other schools
• 5x5 football
• Modified pitch sizes

Who can attend

• All schools across northern NSW
• Options to register multiple teams per school
• Stages two and three students
• All genders
• All abilities

• NNSWF's team have working with children checks
• Attending staff are suitably First Aid trained
