Celebrate the LGBTQI+ members of our community with Pride Round.

Pride Round is 19-21 June 2026, coinciding with Pride Month.

With a commitment to diversity and inclusion, Pride Round provides an opportunity to celebrate and support members of the LGBTQI+ community.

Northern NSW Football are proud Pride In Sport partners.

Ideas for your Event:

  • Play by the Rules online 'Creating an LGBTQI+ Inclusive Club.'
  • Ground announcements at games acknowledging the round and that the club is a safe space for members of the LGBTQI+ community.
  • Place rainbow flags/bunting around the club grounds to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment.
  • Pride socks
  • Pride armbands
  • Rainbow rocktape – available at Chemist Warehouse, Club Warehouse, and Rebel.
  • A BBQ raising funds for LGBTQI+ not-for-profit organisations and services.

Macquarie Field Rainbow corner flags and both men and women will be wearing rainbow air bands. Social media coverage on their channels. 

How to respectfully advocate:

  • Recognise the diversity in all people.
  • Use gender-neutral language where appropriate.
  • Use a person's preferred pronoun.
  • Be respectful to all gender orientations and identities.

How to identify homophobia, biphobia and transphobia incidents:

  1. Verbal abuse: using derogatory language or slurs directed at a person’s sexuality or gender identity.
  2. Physical abuse: violence-based acts based on a person’s sexuality or gender identity.
  3. Bullying: targeted repetitive abuse and/or harassment due to a person’s sexuality or gender identity.
  4. Exclusion: deliberately excluding individuals from social or professional groups based on their sexuality or gender identity.
  5. Discrimination: unfair treatment in club environments, teams or matches based on a person’s sexuality or gender identity.
  6. Vilification: behaviour which encourages hatred or ridicule of LGBTQI+ communities.
  7. Harassment: Repetitive unwanted and/or offensive behaviour such as offensive questions and inappropriate jokes.
  8. Online abuse: Using online platform to threaten, intimidate, bully, harass humiliate or offend a person based on their LGBTQI+ status. Any of these behaviours listed above can happen online and is considered online abuse.

NNSWF has a zero tolerance policy towards LGBTQI+ harassment and exclusion.
