Northern NSW Football is delighted to announce the return of futsal to the NNSWF player, coach and match official talented pathways. 

NNSWF has renewed its focus to grow and support futsal in the region as well as streamline the pathway between grassroots and elite competitions. 

About Futsal

Futsal is the FIFA-recognised form of small-sided indoor football played between two teams of five players, with a smaller, less bouncy ball.  The smaller court means players must think fast and learn to play in tight spaces.
 
Futsal is a professional sport, included in the Youth Olympics since 2018 and has a FIFA World Cup for male and female players. Australia has men's and women's national teams.
 
NNSWF is committed to growing and supporting futsal in the region and offers player, coach and match official pathways by sending teams to FA's National Futsal Championships.
 

Football Australia National Futsal Championships

The 2027 Football Australia National Futsal Championships will be held from 12 to 16 January 2027 on the Gold Coast.
The tournament welcomes the best players from across Australia to compete and showcase their talent on the national stage.

Northern NSW Football Futsal Academy

The NNSWF Futsal Academy is part of a state-wide series of futsal academies run by Football Australia-qualified futsal coaches for players. This supports the growth of futsal in northern NSW as well as the NNSWF teams at FA's National Futsal Championships.​

The NNSWF Futsal Academy is coordinated by NNSWF's Futsal Development Manager Damon Shaw and is for players and coaches wishing to develop their skills and play at a higher level. Players and coaches will take back valuable knowledge to their leagues and clubs.
