Female Football Week is a national initiative which gives the football community the chance to celebrate the immense growth of the women’s game and acknowledge existing players, coaches, referees and administrators in football.

Female Football Week will take place from Friday 8 May to Sunday 17 May 2026.
Showcase your commitment to women's football
You don't want to miss this amazing opportunity! Join us in empowering and celebrating women in sport by showcasing your commitment to diversity and inclusion.
You can do so by:
- Hosting an event or activity during Female Football Week (e.g. a panel discussion, workshop)
- Promoting the week on social media with assets provided to clubs
- Creating content that highlights female athletes from your region
Club Activation Packs have been exhausted for 2026, but we still encourage all clubs to get involved in Female Football Week and register their events.
Skills Session
Hold a free skills session for girls aged 9 – 13 during Female Football Week.
The skills session to run in line with FFA’s National Curriculum Skill Acquisition Phase (SAP) and focus on developing fundamental football skills and improve the player’s overall confidence.
Club BBQ
A club BBQ that celebrates females within the club. Important to include all players, coaches, administrators, referees and supporters.
Come & Try Training Session
Host a fun training session to introduce existing and new female players to the club. Training session could include an introduction to skills and to play fun small-sided games, bring a friend and receive information on how to register. Ideal for all age groups.
Club Interviews
Clubs to interview females for FFW and share articles, videos and photos through social media and web pages. Interviews/good news stories can be sent to Member Zones and NNSWF, to be shared on their social media and web pages.
Female Support Person Day
A fun club day or training session that could include small-sided games, a BBQ or a family day.
Coles MiniRoos Gala Day
Coles MiniRoos Gala Days brings young players together to participate in football matches on smaller fields in a round robin format. The FFW Coles MiniRoos Gala Day can be for registered club teams and children interested in giving football a go.

FFW Coles MiniRoos Gala Days are required to follow MiniRoos National Playing Formats and Rules.
Game Day Mascots
FFW Game Day Mascots for game day. Could include Coles MiniRoos or ‘walk out with your female support person’.
Open Training Sessions
Clubs can host an open training session with senior or first grade teams. Invite your younger players to this session to either watch or train alongside the senior players in your club.
