Female Football Week 2022
Date: 6th May – 15th May
Female Football Week is a national initiative which gives the football community the chance to celebrate the immense growth of the women’s game and acknowledge existing players, coaches, referees and administrators in football.
2022 EVENTS SCHEDULE
Monday 9 May – Coaching Masterclass
- 5:45pm – 8:15pm
- Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility ( Zoom for workshop component)
Football Australia, in collaboration with Northern NSW Football, will be presenting the 2022 Female Football Week Coaching Masterclass. Join us and Rae Dower – Women’s Technical Advisor & Head Coach Women’s U17 (Football Australia).
The Masterclass will consist of two components:
1) Talent ID Workshop (5:45pm – 7pm)
2) Practical application of Talent ID while assessing an Elite Match (7pm – 8:15pm)
*For those with an advanced License, you will be accredited with 10 CPD points.
Tuesday 10 May – Kick-On for Women Five5 Open Session
- 6:00pm – 7:00pm
- Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility
Come and join us at the Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility to try our modified league for women, Kick-On for Women FIVE5!
Kick-On for Women FIVE5 is an extension of the Kick-On for Women program in which we will play 4 x 10 minute quarters on the synthetic five-a-side fields. The league remains consistent with the Kick-On for Women philosophy of fun, inclusion and social connectedness through football. This event is for all females aged 16+ that are wanting to try football for the first time or return to the game after some time off.
Wednesday 11 May – Walking Football Open Session
- 10:00am – 11:00am
- Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility
Walking Football is a social, small-sided version of football specifically modified for older Australians.
Walking Football focuses on passing rather than speed/running; flexible with its formats and accessible to the community and prospective players and highlights the health, well-being and social benefits of regular football and exercise activities for older people.
Friday 13 May – Referee Masterclass
- 6:00pm – 7:30pm
- Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility or Online via Zoom
Hear from world class Referee Kate Jacewicz at our Referee Masterclass this Female Football Week. Whether you’re an aspiring or seasoned referee, join us as Kate details her experiences as a professional referee at major events such as the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Women’s World Cups, Izuz Ute A-League and Liberty A-League.
Saturday 14 May – Networking and Awards Night
Join us in celebrating the accomplishments and contributions of our women in football and our volunteers who have donated hours of service to growing and improving the women and girls game throughout northern NSW.
Football Australia’s General Manager – World Cup Legacy Programs, Carlee Millikin will join us to speak about Football Australia’s FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 Legacy Plan (Legacy ’23) and how this will impact football for women and girls in the coming years. Along with this we will award the 2022 NNSWF Female Football Week Award Winners & the 2022 NNSWF Advanced Coaching Scholarship for Women recipients.
Light refreshments will be provided and we invite you to stay and watch the National Premier League Women’s Match of the Round.
Tuesday 24 May – Primary School Gala Day

A fun day for primary aged students in years 3&4 and 5&6 to come and try football in a fun and social environment. Not just for those
who have played before – we encourage schools to bring students that want to try football for the first time!
Thursday 26 May – High School Gala Day
