The FMNC Youth Development Academy (YDA) is designed to deliver a structured and high-quality environment for players aged 10 to 14 with a strong focus on individual technical development and long-term player growth. The program aligns with both national and regional football curriculum frameworks and supports the objectives of the Northern NSW Football Junior Development League (JDL).

At Football Mid North Coast, we believe football is more than just a game. It’s a powerful platform for personal development, community connection and lifelong learning. Our commitment is to nurture well-rounded players by supporting their physical, mental, emotional and social growth.
Everything we do is built around four core principles:
Develop the Player
We aim to grow the whole player; not just their skills on the ball or ability to score goals. Our coaching approach focuses on:
Technical excellence
Tactical understanding
Individual creativity
We also foster character traits such as resilience, humility, confidence and accountability. Every player is recognised as a unique individual with the potential to thrive both on and off the field. Through thoughtful guidance, we help players set goals, learn from setbacks and take ownership of their development journey.
Build the Team
Football is a team sport, and we believe the collective is greater than the sum of its parts. We intentionally cultivate team environments that value:
Trust and open communication
Respect and inclusion
Shared responsibility and collaboration
Players are encouraged to support one another, embrace diverse roles and work toward common goals. Coaches guide teams to not only perform together but to understand, care for and value each other.
Respect the Game
Football is a global sport with rich traditions and values. We teach players to show respect for:
The rules and officials
Opponents and teammates
Coaches, supporters and themselves
We promote integrity, sportsmanship and fair play in every situation. By honouring the game, players become ambassadors for football, within their clubs and throughout the community.
Train to Develop, Not Just to Win
While winning is a part of the game, our focus is on long-term growth over short-term results. Training sessions are designed to:
Be age-appropriate and engaging
Promote learning and creativity
Embrace mistakes as part of the process
This development-first mindset builds confident, passionate players who understand the game deeply and play it with joy and purpose.
