Applications for the 2025 Northern NSW Football Indigenous Scholarships are now open.
The scholarships are designed to reduce barriers by supporting and increasing opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander players, coaches and referees from across northern NSW to develop in their respective pathways.
Eleven scholarships will be awarded to Indigenous players, referees and coaches.
Five scholarships will be awarded to Indigenous male and female players between the ages of 13 to 16.
Four scholarships will be awarded to Indigenous male and female referees aged 13 and over.
Two scholarships will be awarded to Indigenous male and female coaches aged 18 and over.
Applications open Monday 2 December.
NNSWF Participation Officer – Schools and First Nations Micheal Hugo said the purpose of the NNSWF Indigenous Scholarships was to help Indigenous players, coaches and referees progress in their football journey.
“Each recipient will be role models for future generations of Indigenous players, coaches and referees with the hope to inspire others from their community,” Hugo said.
“NNSWF want to increase the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander players, coaches and referees across football while creating more opportunities for them to engage in professional development.
“This is an opportunity to identify and showcase the next generation who have the potential to achieve at the highest levels of the game.
