2026 Indigenous Community State Youth Championships squads selected

Northern NSW Football is delighted to announce squads for its Indigenous Community State Youth Championships teams.

Following its introduction in 2025, NNSWF’s Community State Youth Championships will feature six all-Indigenous teams made up of community players and coaches from across the region.

First Nations players will have the opportunity to represent their culture alongside First Nations coaches in under-12s, under-14s and under-16s boys and girls teams. The Community State Youth Championships provide a platform for the region’s top community footballers, aged 11 to 16, to represent their respective member zones across northern NSW.

The five-day tournament will be held at Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility in the July school holidays from 6 to 10 July.

Teams will compete in a round-robin style tournament culminating in a grand final match in each gender and age group.

NNSWF Participation Officer – Schools and First Nations Micheal Hugo was thrilled to make the announcement.

“Congratulations to all players and coaches selected in NNSWF’s Indigenous teams to compete at the Community State Youth Championships,” Hugo said.

“We’re proud to continue this initiative in its second year, celebrating Indigenous culture and showcasing the talent of First Nations players from across northern NSW.

“The Community State Youth Championships provide our First Nations community footballers with the opportunity to compete against NNSWF’s member zones and shine on the local stage.”
