2026 NNSWF Indigenous Women’s State Cup team announced

Northern NSW Football is thrilled to announce its Indigenous representative team that will compete at the 2026 Northern NSW Women’s State Cup.

The Women’s State Cup returns next week, with the best NNSWF premier and community teams converging on Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility for the chance to be crowned state champions.

The three-day tournament, running from Friday 10 to Sunday 12 July, will feature joint defending champions Charlestown Azzurri and Maitland FC, alongside depending Community Plate champions Urunga FC.

A NNSWF Indigenous team will enter the competition for the fifth consecutive year, comprising the best Indigenous women and girls aged 15-years and over from across northern NSW.

The team will compete in Group A alongside Cardiff Motor Group NPL Women’s NNSW club Adamstown Rosebud JFC, as well as Kempsey Saints, Lochinvar Rovers and Medowie FC.

NNSWF Participation Officer – Schools and First Nations Football Micheal Hugo was delighted to make the announcement. 

“NNSWF is proud to field an Indigenous representative team in the Women’s State Cup for the fifth consecutive year, providing an opportunity to celebrate First Nations communities, culture and football,” Hugo said.

“This is a wonderful chance for our talented First Nations players to showcase their ability while representing their families, culture and heritage.

“We wish them every success at the tournament.”
