81 coaches across northern NSW have earned their Advanced C License this summer.
The Advanced C License is a significant milestone for any coach and gaining the accreditation has numerous benefits for coaches and players.
Coaches focus on the technical aspects of the game for more than 60 hours which includes teaching the techniques of passing, receiving, striking the ball and running with the ball, along with defending techniques to regain possession.
“I’ve improved my knowledge of the game and developed techniques to evaluate player performance and identify areas for improvement,” recent C License graduate Iain MacDonald said.
“I want to use this to help my players reach their full potential and achieve their goals.”
Northern NSW Football is excited by the outcomes of a productive summer and, according to Talented Player and Coach Education Manager Ryan Doidge, this demonstrates a commitment to improving the quality of coaching and providing better footballing environments for players.
"I am incredibly proud of the effort and commitment that Northern NSW Football and its coach education staff have shown in providing these opportunities,” Doidge said.
“Building a culture of development is something I am passionate about and I’m excited to see our vision come to life so players are competing in better footballing environments.”
B License registrations open
Northern NSW Football is taking applications for their B License course running from 10 February 2023.
The B License focuses on the tactical aspect of teaching players how to use techniques in a small-sided game, to score and how to prevent goals when the opponents have the ball.
The B License qualification is for coaches of:
- Top amateur
- Elite youth
- State teams who hold a Football Australia C License or have a UEFA ‘C’ or AFC ‘C’ License after completing Form 9

It is recommended that participating coaches have their C License for a minimum of 12 months.
