The 2025 Community State Youth Championships wrapped up on Friday afternoon following five exciting days of competition.
The tournament saw the best community footballers from across northern NSW represent their respective member zones as they went head-to-head to be crowned champions.
Four of Northern NSW Football’s seven member zones took part in the competition including Newcastle Football, Macquarie Football, Hunter Valley Football and North Coast Football.
NNSWF worked with member zones to find the optimal competition structure for each division based on the varying number of teams in each age group.
The competition was split into boys and girls age groups from under-12s to under-16s and was open to any community footballers.
Newcastle Football dominated finals day on Friday, winning six of the seven finals they were involved in.
Hunter Valley Football tasted success in the under-15s/16s boys decider, overcoming Macquarie Football 2-0.
There was also double success for North Coast Football who downed Newcastle Football 3-0 in the under-15s girls final, before beating NNSWF Indigenous on penalties in the under-16s decider.
NNSWF General Manager Football Operations Liam Bentley said he was pleased with what the fourth annual competition had delivered.
“The tournament was a fantastic opportunity for our community footballers to showcase their talents,” Bentley said.
“It was exciting to see these players get a chance to play at the Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility and represent their member zone throughout the week.
“A big thank you to the players and team officials for playing the tournament in the right spirit and congratulations to all the winners. Thank you as well to our match officials who did an outstanding job. And thank you as well to our member zones for their support of the concept.”
