Willoughby named chair at NNSWF 2025 AGM

Northern NSW Football held its Annual General Meeting on Saturday, as the event returned to Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility.

The AGM saw the 2025 Annual Report presented as well as the Annual Financial Report.

The NNSWF Board of Directors elected David Willoughby as chair of the organisation at a board meeting following the AGM.

The directors also elected Mike Parsons as deputy chair.

Willoughby said he was honoured to be elected chair and thanked the board for their support, outlining a continued focus on collaboration and strengthening key relationships across the game.

“I am honoured that my fellow directors have elected me as chair and I thank them for their confidence in my leadership,” Willoughby said.

“I would like to thank my fellow board members for their expertise and commitment, and I look forward to continuing to work closely with them.

“We will remain focused on strengthening our valued relationships with member zones and stakeholders as we deliver on our organisation’s core values.”

Willoughby acknowledged Parsons’ leadership as chair over the past three and a half years, highlighting the impact of key initiatives and the strengthened relationships he helped build across the game.

“I am grateful for the work Mike Parsons has done as chair and the strong foundation he has helped build for the organisation,” Willoughby said.

“Mike led several initiatives throughout his three and a half years as chair including promotion/relegation, JDL pathway review and implementation, as well as community football pathways.

“Most importantly, Mike has led the re-engagement between Northern NSW Football, fellow member federations and Football Australia. Leaving us in a very strong position moving forward.

“I look forward to continuing to work closely with him in his new role as deputy chair.”

A Peak Steering Committee meeting followed the AGM, bringing together member zone chairs, general managers and standing committee chairs to consider and discuss key strategic issues.
