Finalists announced for 2024 Female Football Week awards

Northern NSW Football are delighted to announce the finalists for the 2024 NNSWF Female Football Week Awards.

The award winners will be announced at the Female Football Week Networking Event that coincides with an All-Age Women’s community football match that will receive the NPL NNSW gameday treatment at Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility on Friday night.

The night will celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of women in football and volunteers who have donated hours of service to growing and improving the game for women and girls across northern NSW.

Kate Haberfield will be the master of ceremonies for the event, featuring guest speakers Young Matildas and Newcastle Jets player Lara Gooch and Matildas Alumni Mara Watts who will speak about their football journeys and experiences.

The All-Age Women’s match between Edgeworth JFC and Singleton Strikers FC will follow the event, kicking off at 7:30pm. The game will be officiated by three female match officials including Lucy Hungerford, Alison Macready and Alicia Guest.

“This event is such a wonderful opportunity for like-minded women and other volunteers to connect and form relationships,” NNSWF Female Participation and Inclusion Officer Nat Boyd said.

“We are so lucky to have Lara Gooch and Mara Watts joining us as our guest speakers to share their experiences.”
