Greta Branxton FC named Club Changer of the Month for October

Northern NSW Football is pleased to announce Greta Branxton FC as its Club Changer of the Month for October.

Club Changer is Football Australia’s Club Development program, which aims to enhance clubs for long-term viability and success.

This month’s Club Changers focus was values and behaviours. Greta Branxton is built on the belief that football is at its best when played with respect, integrity and community spirit.

Greta Branxton showcased that belief as they actively promoted positive behaviour on and off the field. They encouraged players to lead by example with their opposition, referees and crowd expected to do the same.

They implemented a clear zero tolerance approach to match official abuse which was enforced beyond association expectations and was supported by visible ground officials who modelled and encouraged respectful conduct among spectators.

To ensure that the club’s values and expected positive behaviours were met they created news articles and reminders of their values as well as team talks at individual training sessions led by the executive committee.

By taking these steps, Greta Branxton reiterated their expectations and ensured education, accountability and continual improvement across all levels of the club.

Hunter Valley Football General Manager Michael Carraro was thrilled for the club to be recognised for their efforts.

“Greta Branxton FC continues to embody the true spirit of community football. They have created a welcoming, respectful and family first environment where players, coaches, volunteers and supporters feel part of something special,” Carraro said.

“The club has placed a strong emphasis on developing players and coaches, ensuring that football in the region continues to grow through education and positive leadership.

“Well done to everyone at Greta Branxton. This recognition is greatly deserved and a reflection of the values that make community football so powerful in the Hunter Valley.”
