Northern NSW Football is pleased to announce Gunnedah and District Soccer Association as its Club Changer of the Month for July.
Club Changer is Football Australia's Club Development program, which aims to enhance clubs for long-term viability and success.
This month's Club Changer focus was infrastructure, investment and strategic partnership. Gunnedah and District Soccer Association's commitment to improving its infrastructure has culminated in the successful completion of a new clubhouse.
As the largest project Gunnedah and District have undertaken, the clubhouse showcases the significant work committee members put in to secure funding and oversee construction.
Then secretary and now president Alli Gourley led much of the funding application process, project coordination and communication with contractors and stakeholders. Alongside Gourley, former president Lachlan May and the association's committee members played a vital role in delivering the project and ensuring its successful completion.
Gunnedah and District ensured to invest back into the local community throughout the build by engaging local contractors and businesses to guarantee the project benefitted the wider Gunnedah community.
The completed clubhouse provides Gunnedah and District players, volunteers, officials and families with a modern and welcoming space that significantly improves the experience of participants.
The club now has the capacity to host more matches, carnivals and community events that will further support the continued growth of the club.
Gunnedah and District Soccer Association secretary Rachel Batinic said the new clubhouse was a testament to the hard work of the association's committee members and an important investment in the future of grassroots football.
"This project demonstrates what can be achieved by a passionate group of volunteers working together towards a common goal," Batinic said.
"Our new clubhouse is more than just a building. It's a lasting investment in grassroots football and the local community.
"It reflects the dedication, resilience and vision of the entire Gunnedah and District Soccer Association committee."
Regional Football Manager – NNSWF Northern Inland Jess Kellaway was thrilled for Gunnedah and District Soccer Association to be recognised for their hard work.
"Projects like this don't happen overnight. This clubhouse reflects the countless hours, hard work and dedication the Gunnedah and District Soccer Association has poured into their club over the last few years," Kellaway said.
"Everyone involved should be incredibly proud of creating a facility that will benefit football in Gunnedah for years to come."
