Inaugural Indigenous Community State Youth Championships squad selected

Northern NSW Football is delighted to announce squads for its inaugural Indigenous Community State Youth Championships teams.

NNSWF’s Community State Championships will include four all-Indigenous teams of community players and coaches from across the region for the first time at the 2025 tournament.

First Nations players will have the opportunity to represent their culture alongside First Nations coaches in under-14s and under-16s boys and girls teams.

The Community State Youth Championships allows the best community footballers aged 11 to 16 from across northern NSW to represent their respective member zones.

The five-day tournament will be held at Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility in the July school holidays from 7 to 11 July.

Teams will compete in a round-robin-style tournament culminating in a grand final match in each gender and age group.

NNSWF Participation Officer - Schools and First Nations Micheal Hugo was excited to make the announcement.

“Congratulations to all of the players and coaches who were selected in NNSWF’s Indigenous teams that will compete in the Community State Youth Championships,” Hugo said.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity for the first time to celebrate Indigenous culture and showcase the talent of the First Nations players from across the northern NSW region.

“The Community State Youth Championships provides our community First Nations footballers the opportunity to compete against NNSWF’s member zones and shine on the local stage.”
