The 2023 NAIDOC Cup came to a thrilling end after another successful tournament celebrating football with the First Nations community.
Following some fantastic football played on day two, day three proved to go one step further as goals, action and drama took centre stage with Champions announced in all four age groups.
The Champion’s trophies were shared as Northern NSW took out the under-14s boys and under-16s girls age groups and Football NSW claimed the under-14s girls and under-16s boys categories.
Following the accumulation of results, Football NSW retained the NAIDOC Cup for a second year.
After another fierce day of competition, the tournament concluded with medals being awarded to each group winner and the Player of the Tournament.
“The event was a great success,” said NNSWF Legacy Development Officer Joseph Wright.
“It was great to have had so many young footballers, coaches, families and friends gather and celebrate First Nations people and football.”
Northern NSW Football would like to thank all participants, coaches, referees, volunteers, sponsors and supporters for making the event special as well as Football NSW for hosting the tournament. We would also like to thank the NSW Government for their on-going support of the NAIDOC Cup and promoting the First Nations Community.
