The time has come to rally behind the champions in your club and recognise those making a real impact on and off the field as the Newcastle Permanent Local Champion Awards return for 2026.
NNSWF are shining the floodlights on local legends to recognise and reward their commitment to their club, community and football in the region.
The first nominations for 2026 are now open for April.
Northern NSW Football has also proudly welcomed long-term major partner of community football Newcastle Permanent as the naming rights partner for the awards.
NNSWF Club Support and Development Officer Brett Hodgekiss said the Newcastle Permanent Local Champion Awards provided a fantastic opportunity to recognise some of the most valuable members of the northern NSW football community.
“Community football clubs are the heartbeat of our sport, filled with countless selfless and dedicated individuals,” Hodgekiss said.
“These people deserve to be celebrated for their contributions and I’m delighted that the Newcastle Permanent Local Champion Awards allow us to do just that.
“It’s a wonderful chance for anyone involved in football across our region to nominate someone and honour the positive impact they have on the game.”
Newcastle Permanent spokesperson Paul Juergens said he was excited to be a part of the initiative through the renewed partnership with NNSWF.
“Newcastle Permanent are thrilled to back the Local Champions Awards and celebrate the amazing achievements of participants from across the region," Juergens said.
“We are committed to supporting local communities and look forward to getting out and presenting awards to all of the hard-working players, volunteers, coaches, teams and referees.”
