Northern NSW Football is proud to announce Ronald McDonald House Northern NSW as an official charity partner, marking the beginning of a meaningful partnership focused on supporting children and families across our communities.
Ronald McDonald House is an independent charity that provides wrap-around care that keeps families close, steady, and supported when their child is seriously ill or injured.
By easing emotional and practical pressures, the organisation creates a calm, connected environment where parents can focus on their child’s recovery and families experience better outcomes. This essential service strengthens resilience, reduces stress, and ensures families never face their medical journey alone.
The partnership reflects a strong alignment between Ronald McDonald House Northern NSW and NNSWF, with both organisations connected to many of the same local communities across the region.
From grassroots clubs and volunteers to players, members and families, football has deep community reach, and this partnership creates an opportunity to make a genuine difference beyond the pitch.
As part of the partnership, NNSWF will support Ronald McDonald House Northern NSW through direct donations, staff engagement, volunteer recruitment, fundraising initiatives, event support and opportunities for the wider football community to contribute and get involved.
With football being the largest participation sport in the region, the partnership highlights the important role the game can play in building healthy, active and connected communities, while supporting organisations that provide care, comfort and practical assistance to families when they need it most.
Northern NSW Football CEO Peter Haynes said the partnership was an opportunity to demonstrate how football can positively impact communities beyond the game itself.
“We are incredibly proud to partner with Ronald McDonald House and support the vital work they do for children and families across our communities,” Haynes said.
“There is a strong alignment between our organisations, with Ronald McDonald House supporting many of the same communities our clubs, players, volunteers and members come from. That shared connection makes this partnership especially meaningful.
“Football is about more than what happens on the pitch. It is about bringing people together, building stronger communities and using the reach of our game to make a positive impact.
“We look forward to working closely with Ronald McDonald House through fundraising, volunteering, events and community engagement initiatives that will help support families when they need it most.”
Ronald McDonald House CEO Ross Bingham said the partnership would help strengthen support for families across the region and create valuable opportunities for community involvement through football.
“When a child is seriously ill, families need more than medical care - they need a community standing with them. Our partnership with Northern NSW Football helps ensure families are wrapped in the stability, connection and support they rely on at Ronald McDonald House Northern NSW.” Bingham said.
“Together, we’re keeping families close, easing their stress, and strengthening them through one of the toughest moments of their lives”
