Northern NSW Football is delighted to announce its extended squads that will face Capital Football in the inaugural NNSWF All-Stars Challenge.
NNSWF have selected senior men's and women's representative teams to play as the Northern NSW All-Stars. A HIT106.9 Northern League One All-Stars extended squad has also been selected for its curtain raiser against the Zone Football League All-Stars.
The concept builds on the successful return of representative football to the region last season, when Northern NSW All-Stars teams faced the Newcastle Jets in front of strong community support.
NNSWF Technical Director Ryan Doidge was pleased to make the announcement.
“I’m really excited about the inaugural Northern NSW Football All-Stars Challenge,” Doidge said.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity to bring together some of the best talent from across northern NSW and give these players the chance to represent their region against quality opposition.
“The make up of our men’s and women’s squads is really exciting. We’ve identified a lot of talented players through NNSWF’s premier competitions across the whole region and this is a great chance for them to showcase what they can do on a representative stage.
“With Capital Football confirmed as the inaugural challengers, it promises to be a great event for everyone involved. The curtain raisers featuring the HIT106.9 Northern League One All-Stars and Zone Football League All-Stars will also add to what should be a fantastic day of football.
“Congratulations to all the players selected. I hope they enjoy the build up to the matches and wish those chosen in the final matchday squads all the very best."
NNSWF's Technical Department chose the Umbro Northern NSW Men's and Cardiff Motor Group Northern NSW Women's extended squads made up of the best talent across northern NSW.
Jim Cresnar and Peter McGuinness will coach the Umbro Northern NSW Men's All-Stars for the second consecutive year while Ben Horgan and Craig Atkins will coach the Cardiff Motor Group Northern NSW Women's All-Stars team.
Chris Gallagher and Michael Body will coach the HIT106.9 Northern League One All-Stars team.
The coaches were selected via a merit-based system and will contribute to the selection of players for the final 18-player matchday squads which will be announced in the lead up to the event.
The extended squads will take part in two training sessions across September before the matchday squad is chosen. The matchday squad will then train twice together the week of the match.

ENTRY: $15 adults, $5 concession, FREE 16-years and under. Tickets will be available at the gate only with contactless payment preferred.
PARKING: Supporters are advised to arrive early and leave plenty of time to enter the venue due to limited parking and with a large crowd expected.
