Northern NSW Football is delighted to announce its inaugural squad selected for the 2024 National Para Football Championships.
The National Para Football Championships will be held in Canberra at the Australian Institute of Sport from 11 to 14 September.
The tournament will see the top male and female para footballers from across the country go head-to-head, with teams from Northern NSW Football, Football NSW, Football Queensland, Football South Australia and Football West all competing.
This will be the first year that NNSWF have sent a team to the tournament, with male and female players representing the region.
“Northern NSW Football is thrilled to be a part of the National Para Football Championships for the first time this year,” NNSWF General Manager Member Services Ross Hicks said.
“The tournament will provide our para athletes from across the region the opportunity to showcase their talent on the national stage.
“Congratulations to all players and coaches that have been selected in the squad. We wish them all the best in the tournament.”
The National Para Football Championships are an important part of the talent identification process for Australia’s para football pathway.
ParaMatildas and Pararoos coaching staff will attend the tournament as they prepare to select their squads for the 2024 IFCPF World Cup in Spain in November.
“The championships are vital to the player pathway, as they offer selectors the opportunity to scout and identify new talent for training camps and major tournaments,” Hicks said.
A specific development camp will run alongside the tournament for all female participants for the first time. Aspiring female players will receive coaching from the national team coaches and train alongside the ParaMatildas.
