Northern NSW Football is delighted to announce its squad selected for the 2025 National Para Football Championships.
The National Para Football Championships will be held in Melbourne at the Home of the Matildas from 8 to 12 December.
The tournament will see the top male and female para footballers from across the country go head-to-head, with teams from Northern NSW Football, Football NSW, Football Queensland, Football Victoria and Football West all competing for the title of champions.
This will be the second year NNSWF have attended the tournament, following a successful inaugural tournament in 2024, where they ranked fourth.
NNSWF’s squad will feature local ParaMatildas trio Rae Anderson, Georgia Beikoff and Lainee Harrison, along with Capital Football ParaMatilda Carly Salmon.
Mackenzie Davis will lead the squad for the second year in a row, building on her coaching development after taking part in the ParaMatildas’ three-day training camp in November. Matt Bass will again join the coaching staff, following a successful stint as assistant coach in 2024.
NNSWF Participation and Women’s Football Officer Serena Carter was thrilled to return to the tournament.
“Northern NSW Football is delighted to return to the tournament and showcase the outstanding para athletes from across the region,” Carter said.
“Having Trey [Hunter], Dylan [Molloy] and Shaun [McCann] return in 2025 is a fantastic opportunity for them to share their knowledge to our young squad, which ranges from 15 to 32.
“Compared to 2024, we have nine NNSWF athletes competing in this year’s tournament and we’re thrilled to see the continued growth of para athletes in northern NSW through our para football program and three come-and-try days. Several squad members were identified through this program and it’s fantastic to see our pathways continue to develop.
“Congratulations to all players and coaches that have been selected in the squad. We wish them all the best for the tournament.”
The National Para Football Championships are an important part of the talent identification process for Australia’s para football pathway.
ParaMatildas and ParaRoos coaching staff will attend the tournament to identify emerging talent and witness how returning players have developed since the last championships.
“The championships are vital to the player pathway, as they offer selectors the opportunity to scout and identify new talent for training camps and major tournaments,” Carter said.
