NNSWF announces squad for Nihon University High Schools Cup

Northern NSW Football is delighted to announce its squad for the 2025 Nihon University High Schools Cup.

The tournament will take place at Toki no Sumika located at the base of Mt Fuji, Japan from 1 September to 3 September 2025.

The Nihon University High Schools Cup showcases the top 12 high schools affiliated with Nihon University.

Twenty-six high schools from all over Japan are affiliated with Nihon University and go head-to-head throughout the year competing for the privilege to attend the tournament.

NNSWF is the first foreign team invited to participate in the prestigious tournament.

The invitation is a significant milestone that reflects the strength of NNSWF’s developing international relationships and ambition to create global pathways for players across northern NSW.

NNSWF will take one under-17s boys team to the tournament with representation from six of its seven member zones.

NNSWF Technical Director Ryan Doidge said he was pleased to be the first foreign side invited to the tournament.

“Congratulations to all players on their selection to represent Northern NSW Football at the Nihon University High Schools Cup,” Doidge said.

“It’s a great achievement to be the first ever foreign side invited to participate in the tournament and I’m excited to showcase the talent we have all across the northern NSW region.

“I look forward to the players experiencing different cultures and experiences- and wish them the best of luck.”
