Northern NNSW Football is delighted to announce its squads for the 2024 National Youth Championships.
The National Youth Championships will be held in Melbourne and Wollongong throughout July.
Football Victoria will host the Girls Championships at the Home of the Matildas at La Trobe University in Melbourne from 3 to 8 July, while Football NSW will host the Boys Championships at WIN Stadium, JJ Kelly Park and Ian McLennan Park in Wollongong from 16 to 21 July.
NNSWF Technical Director Ryan Doidge said he was pleased to make the announcement.
“Through a continued focus of strengthening relationships with the Newcastle Jets, Zone Talent Support Program technical leads and club technical directors, we have been able to form our talent identification processes for this year which we are very proud of,” Doidge said.
“We have introduced talent development games into our TSP calendar, which has allowed us to provide opportunities for all players across our region to demonstrate their abilities as an individual and within a team environment.
“Along with our talent development games, a culmination of our year round TSP program, the use of our Talent Identification app and conversations with respective club technical directors, we are confident that we have selected some exceptional talent to represent this region.”
Doidge said he was excited to showcase talented players and coaches from the northern NSW region at this year’s National Youth Championships.
“We have some excellent young players from across our region in our squads,” Doidge said.
“Congratulations as well to all the coaches that we have selected to represent NNSWF. These coaches have worked hard all year within our TSP and A-League programs. I have no doubt that they will be able to add value to the players’ experience, knowledge and understanding while we are away at these tournaments.
“I look forward to working with our staff on providing an incredible experience for our players while showcasing our talent on the national stage.”
NNSWF CEO Peter Haynes congratulated all the players and coaches selected.
“Congratulations to all of the players and coaches who will represent NNSWF at the 2024 National Youth Championships. I wish them all the very best for the tournament,” Haynes said.
“NNSWF has a proud history at these tournaments. I know Ryan and his team are well prepared and I know our players will do us proud on the pitch.”
The National Youth Championships are Football Australia’s primary national football tournament for under-15s and under-16s girls and boys. The competition will see teams from each of Football Australia’s state member federations compete over five days.
